Summary: Dr. Greg Smith’s study builds on earlier research based on Omega-3 fatty acids having an impact on the lipid layer of the tear through the quality of the oil gland in the eye (meibum) secretions. This study uses a more efficient form of Omega-3s. Omega-3 science has evolved and we understand that Omega-3s EPA and DHA and in a natural form have a much greater therapeutic effect on patients in a myriad of ways including the quality of their meibum and lipid layer. In just 8 weeks this study achieved the results in reducing and alleviating the symptoms through a nutritional intervention that previous studies took as long as a year to reach noted relief.
